Frequently asked questions

The photo must be 33×48 mm. For online applications the digital file is 354×472 pixels, up to 120 KB. The head (chin to crown) should measure 28–33 mm. The system sizes it for you automatically.

White or close to white, no border. Take the photo against any background — the system removes it and puts in the right colour.

Allowed except thick-rimmed, tinted or with glare.

Yes. Tick “Baby or young child” before uploading. Lay your baby on a plain sheet and photograph from above — the system relaxes the rules that don’t apply to babies, such as eyes open.
